A Jubilee Visit To Great Britain

Bob and Jean Sue visited Great Britain late this spring to partake in the Queen's Golden Jubilee festivities, renew acquaintances with friends and relatives, and see parts of England (and Wales) we haven't visited before. Here are links to a few of our photographic memories. Click on the photo to bring you to a page of more photos on this aspect of our journey.

In Search Of The Queen

Buckingham Palace was our first stop, but our travels in search of the monarchy also led us to Windsor and Beaumaris Castles.

To Market, To Market! And Two For Tea

Bob discovered a replacement for his regular visits to Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market in London's Borough Market. Goodies purchased there were put to good use at a tea we hosted at our flat for Jean Sue's cousins Annie and Sonja.

From Forest To Moor

Jean Sue, enthralled by Edward Rutherford's The Forest, suggested touring that region between Southampton and Salisbury, so we did, and enjoyed our brief time at Brockenhurst and Salisbury. From there we drove to Devon to visit Ray and Sacha.

Anglesey and Snowdonia

Tens of thousands of sheep! Bob was happy. But despite Anglesey being an island, little fresh shellfish could be found.

The Cotswolds

Tea at the Lygon Arms in Broadway (no, not the one known as the Big White Way) and catching up with Bob's cousin Michelle. Plus ancient rings and sheep fences!
